A woman has won £1.1 million in a lottery after taking her mum’s advice.
While staying anonymous the jackpot prize winner says she bought a ticket when out shopping with her mother who suggested she should “give that game a try”.
The so called game was Michigan Lottery’s Lucky 7s Fast Cash jackpot where a life-changing $1,682,998 (£1.1m) could be cashed in.
On the suggestion of her mum, the 37-year-old millionaire to-be bought a ticket on December 18, 2021.
She told Michigan Lottery Connect: “I was out with my mom and playing Club Keno.
“My mom told me that the Fast Cash jackpot was more than $1.6 million and suggested I give that game a try.”
She made the fruitful purchase at a shop called Flappers Café at 722 Southfield Road in Lincoln Park, Michigan, US, The Sun reports.
The winner continued: “I bought a couple tickets and won a few bucks and decided to buy one more with my winnings.
“That was when I won the jackpot. I was so excited; I really wasn’t sure how to react.
“I called the bar owner over and told him I had won and asked him to scan the ticket for me.
“He confirmed that I had won, and I just couldn’t believe what was happening.”
The staggering sum is enough for her to pay off her student loans, buy a new home, and take her son to Disney World, she says.
And not to be rash with her winnings, the unidentified woman sensibly wants to save whatever is rest.
MI Lottery said: “Fast Cash games are a series of instant-win games that print from terminals at Lottery retailers.
“Fast Cash tickets range in price from $2 per play up to $20 per play.
“Fast Cash games offer a progressive jackpot that can be won instantly.
“Every Fast Cash ticket gives players a chance to win all or part of the progressive jackpot.”
There are 10 available Fast Cash games, which all pour into the same jackpot.
