War Of Words: Gary Neville Slams Xhaka For His Rant
Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has slammed Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka for his post-match rant after the Newcastle defeat yesterday.
Arsenal suffered a humiliating 2-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle,-dropping to 5th position with 66 points.
After the defeat, Xhaka is quoted by Skysports as having said:
If someone isn’t ready for this game, stay at home, as simple as that. It doesn’t matter your age, you can be 30, 35, 10, 18 – if you’re not ready for that, stay on the bench, stay at home, don’t come here.
We need people to have the balls to come here and play because we knew this game is one of the most important for us. To perform like this is not acceptable. It’s very, very sad for us, very disappointing and I feel very sorry for the people who came here to support us.
This is not the way we wanted to go. This is all I can say, to say sorry to them. I don’t have any other words.”
In responding to Xhaka’s comments, the English pundit Neville alluded that the Arsenal midfielder had no right to take a ‘dig’ at young players at the club despite the loss.
He’s obviously having a right dig at people within his dressing room. I hope he wasn’t having a go at them young players-him? I’ll tell you what, he’s been a disgrace at times.

Arsenal have failed to qualify for the UEFA champions league since their last participation in 2016-17 season. And this season under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta their hope is hanging with a thread.
To qualify for the UEFA champions league, Arsenal needs to grab maximum points against Everton on Sunday and Tottenham has to lose.
Tottenham will be playing against Norwich, which is an easy fixture on paper.
