Twitter down as users blocked from ‘accessing site and accounts in global blackout’

Twitter users are experiencing a major blackout and unable to access the website or their accounts, according to reports.

Users cannot tweet, check timelines and others can’t log in or use the app.

The website displays an error message stating ‘something went wrong’ when using the search function, with the loading button failing.

Users in the US are having issues across the country, according to Down Detector.

Many people on the east and west coast of North America, including New York and Los Angeles are affected.

For the UK and Europe, Twitter users are also unable to tweet or access their pages.
