Transfer Deadline: Top EPL Players Likely To Move Before The Window Closes
The transfer deadline is a few days from closing, and here are the top English Premier League [EPL] players who are likely to move before the window closes.
The transfer window opened on the 10th of June and is set to close on the 1st of September at 11 pm.
At Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo’s career at Old Trafford remains obscure as the 37-year-old striker is currently unhappy. Ronaldo has been forcing his way out of Man United after expressing his desire to join a club that is competing in the UEFA Champions League. However, Ronaldo is facing rejection from several clubs that could afford his hefty wages. Currently, the former Real Madrid striker is pocketing a staggering £500 000 per week.
Apart from Ronaldo, defender Phil Jones is also expected to leave Old Trafford since he is not in Erik Ten Hag’s plans. Ten Hag’s revolution will witness the costly and injury-prone Jones being offloaded. Following the availability of Phil Jones, it is reported that three EPL clubs are eyeing to sign the defender.
Leeds United, Southampton and Fulham are said to be in the race to secure the services of Jones.
Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana is expected to move to Chelsea before the transfer window closes. Chelsea are looking to bolster their backline with the youthful Fofana, but the progress so far is not pleasing since the Foxes have rejected several bids from the Blues. As it stands, Thomas Tuchel’s side is preparing a fourth bid of around £75 million for the Leicester City centre-back.
Despite eyeing to land the highly-rated Fofana, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is also expected to land striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona. As reported by Sportbible, Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Aubamayeng. The Blues are rumoured to have agreed to a fee in the region of £18 million.
Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks is also another PL player expected to leave Hotspurs. The 26-year-old midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham following the arrival of coach Antonio Conte. It is reported that AS Roma are willing to sign him after being presented with the chance to sign Winks.
However, the deal is pending since the player is reluctant to leave the EPL.
