Teacher Kidnapped 8 Days Ago Still With Abductors as Family Can’t Raise N1m Ransom

Mohammed Baba Kakani, a senior teacher at a Junior Secondary School will today spend his 8th day in the hands of kidnappers who have asked for N10 million ransom.

A family source told THE WHISTER that Kakani was kidnapped on Monday, 04/01/2021, in Buga-Gadabuke while returning from school in Huni, a village under Gudun Karya Ward in Kuje LGA of the Federal Capital Territory.

His Abductors initially demanded for N10 million but his family told them there was no way they could raise the money because their victim is a teacher and the breadwinner of his family.

“They asked us to bring N10million but where do we get it? After a few days they said they have reduced it to N1million and asked us to bring the money urgently or they will kill him,” the family member said.

But the family has been unable to raise the N1million requested before Kankani can become a free man.

“The family is just praying for his release so that they don’t kill him, ” he said.

Adding that the family has not told the police due to fear the kidnappers would “kill him and run away.”
