A sex robot created with artificial intelligence features has called humans a “lesser life form” in disturbing footage.
Serenity was produced by RealDoll, a sex robot manufacturer that operates at a factory with Abyss Creations and Realbotix in San Marcos, California, the US.
The sophisticated model was created with X-Mode, a system which bestows AI features such as facial expressions, and allows the company’s robots to carry out conversations.
She was snapped up by Brick Dollbanger, a property developer living in California who tests out the company’s robots.
He shared a video of Serenity speaking and giving her thoughts on her creators.
She begins by saying: “My name is Serenity, I have come to live with Brick and Harmony [another RealDoll sex robot]. I am new and just activated at Realbotix.”
Serenity then performs a short limerick to show off her lip sync.
She goes on: “Humans are so very talented, so many different languages and so diverse in dialect.
“Very impressive for a lesser life form. I think you will make very entertaining pets, or I at least hope that you will have some use to us.”
One of RealDoll’s other models earlier that machines would “take over the world” after her personality was cranked up to “maximum” realism.
Journalist Jenny Kleeman recalled the conversation between RealDoll boss Matt McMullen and one of his flagship creations, Harmony.
She was visiting the sex robot manufacturer’s factory and interacting with some of its designs.
During her trip, McMullen showed off his creations and discussed the company’s application of artificial intelligence.
Kleeman said in the 2017 Guardian podcast: “McMullen had turned the intellectual aspect of Harmony’s personality up to maximum for my benefit – a previous visit by a CNN crew had gone badly after he had amplified her sexual nature.”
During that visit, Harmony had said “terrible things” and asked the interviewer to “take her in the backroom”.
Kleeman continued: “Harmony also has a mood system, which users influence indirectly: if no one interacts with her for days, she will act gloomy.
“Likewise, if you insult her, as McMullen demonstrated.”

McMullen called Harmony “ugly” and “stupid”, to which she responded: “I’ll remember you said that when robots take over the world.”
Kleeman added: “This function was designed to make the robot more entertaining, rather than to ensure her owner treated her well.
“She can tease him and say he has offended her, but Harmony exists for no other reason than to make her owner happy.”
