This article is an original article written for ladies and women above the age of 18 years. I would like to explain what you need to do as a lady after you happened to have slept with a man and you are not ready for any kind of pregnancy whatsoever.
Like I said earlier, this article is recommended for only ladies and women above the age of 18. It has been observed that lots of ladies don’t know about the emergency contraception pills which are taken to prevent unwanted pregnancy. However, I am going to be sharing a well known and also most simple thing to do after you slept with a guy to avoid pregnancy.
Like I said, it’s very simple so I won’t take much of your time. This method works but most people tend not to believe that it works. The truth is that the idea of using emergency contraception is still the best. Although sometimes called the morning after pill, emergency contraception can be used up to 3 days after intercourse (some doctors think it might even work up to 5 days after). So, this can be used by any lady or woman who happens to have earlier had an unprotected intercourse with a guy and then regrets it and doesn’t want to be pregnant. The pill is not 100% efficient but only about 75% tested and trusted. This means it may work for some people and it may not work for some (though with a high probability that it would work).
The most common side effects of using this ECPs are nausea and vomiting. A pill to lessen the symptoms is given with the ECPs.
HOW DO I TAKE IT?
You will be given 3 pills (where 2 of the pills are emergency contraception, while the 3rd one is antinausea) to be taken immediately. Another 3 pills will be given to be taken after 12hrs. And if you feel you won’t able to take them in 12hrs, then you can delay your first dose and take the second dose after 12hrs.
NB: The second dose of pills is very important.
✓ Do not drive a car or drink any alcohol for the next 24hr after you take the second set of pills. This is because the medication that you took to prevent nausea might make you feel drowsy, and so it is dangerous to drive or drink alcohol.
✓ Also, do not take any extra birth control pills. They will not decrease your chance of getting pregnant and will likely increase nausea and vomiting.
