Power Rangers’ Green Ranger Dies By Suicide

According to a US tabloid, TMZ, law enforcement sources told the publication that Jason and his wife, Tammie, checked into a Texas hotel on Friday. The two — who were in the middle of a divorce — got separate rooms, but at some point, the estranged couple got into an argument in Tammie’s room and staffers were called to calm things down, and peace was restored.

The sources further stated that, later, either late Friday night or early Saturday morning, the two got into another argument and Jason locked Tammie out of his room. Tammie, who was reportedly concerned for his safety, called the cops around 5 AM Saturday morning. When officers couldn’t make contact with Jason, hotel management let them in and they discovered the actor hanged himself in the bathroom.

Here are some condolence messages shared by his fans:

When I was 12, I raced home from school because there was a new show starting and really wanted to watch it. Thank you for helping me through some tough years. Thank you for showing me that ordinary people could be brave. And thank you for challenging my sexuality #GreenRanger

With a heavy heart today we mourn the passing of a great actor. Jason David Frank formally know as Tommy from Power Rangers. Also know as an accomplished martial artist. RIP Green Ranger. Thoughts and prayers to your family and friends.

Right now, I am saddened by the passing of the first sixth ranger, the first green ranger, the first white ranger. I may not be part of the first generation but I know the impact this actor made in the world of entertainment. Rip J.D.F. May the Power protect you.
