Pitso Mosimane Finally Lands New Job

South Africa national Pitso Mosimane has landed a new coaching job.

The former Al Ahly coach has joined Saudi Arabia’s second-tier outfit Al Ahli Saudi. Al Ahli took to Twitter to make this special Sunday announcement.

“Pitso Mosimane is the new manager of our first football team.”


This development of appointing Africa’s most decorated coach comes three months after the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach amicably parted ways with the Egyptian giants Al Ahly on June 13.

“During the meeting, they all decided that he should continue his mission with Al Ahly as of the achievements he has managed to accomplish during his time at the club, However during a meeting that was held recently Mosimane requested to leave and that he was satisfied with the achievements he managed while with the club.

“Later on it was discussed and the board decided to approve his request to part ways with the club and thank him for all his achievements while with the club,” the club statement read.

Mosimane had a glaring two-year spell with the Red Devils, achieving a historic milestone in his coaching career with the club.

During his stint with the Egyptian side, Pitso Mosimane managed to win a historic back-to-back CAF Champions League as well as clinch a bronze medal at the Club World Cup competition which was however won by the English team, Chelsea.

Of recent, the South African national was mooted as the best African candidate to take over at Bournemouth.

The Cherries sacked their coach Scott Parker who had pulled a string of unpleasant results at the club.

After the sacking of Parker, South Africans tipped Mosimane as the best African candidate to take over from the fired coach.

Meanwhile, Mosimane achieved a first for South African coaches after getting the CAF Pro-Licence coaching certificate which is equivalent to the UEFA A-Licence.

With the CAF Pro-Licence coaching certificate, there is a possibility that we can one day see Pitso Mosimane in the dugout of an English Premier League (EPL) club as he is eligible to coach anywhere in the world.
