PDP Leaders Meet Former President Jonathan Over Party Crisis

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party are currently having a meeting with a former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan.

Former senate president, Bukola Saraki, made this known in a tweet posted on Tuesday.

The tweet showed a video where Jonathan welcomed the PDP leaders as they exchanged pleasantries.

The former president said, “You are welcome,” as he received the delegates.

Saraki disclosed that the leaders organized the meeting in order to resolve the crisis rocking the political party.

He tweeted, “As part of our efforts to listen to the concerns of key stakeholders across our great party, this afternoon, the @OfficialPDPNig Reconciliation & Strategy Committee is meeting with our immediate past President, H.E. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (@GEJonathan).”

Recall that the convicted National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh on Thursday stood ground, that the party remains the only channel out of Nigeria’s present woes.

Metuh who had only returned from the United Kingdom where he had gone for medical treatment made this assertion on Thursday while addressing members of the party’s National Working Committee who visited him at his Abuja residence.

He said the PDP is the country’s option to rally forces for unity, stability and development, given the quality of its human resources at all levels and its values and principles of all-inclusiveness.

He said, “At this point, the PDP remains the viable option to restore hope in the polity, revamp the faith Nigerians have in our nation and save her from collapse.”
