Nigerian students, who are on the (NDDC) Niger Delta Development Commission-funded scholarship in the United Kingdom, have cried out and lamented over the harrowing experience they are going through in the United Kingdom because of the alleged refusal of the NDDC to remit funds to them.
According to the protesting students, their tuition fees have not been paid since 2018, and as a result, they have been denied study materials and locked out of their study portal. They also said that the UK officials now see them as liars and suspect they came in through fraudulent means rather than scholarship.
Recall that the acting Managing Director of NDDC, Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei, fainted on Monday during an investigative hearing at the National Assembly on illegal spending and mismanagement of funds in the commission. Read here.
The stranded student, therefore, said that they are using the protest as a medium to appeal to Buhari to wade in and prevail on the NDDC to do the needful and bring them out of their current predicament……
