Mum’s tragic post before death of toddler son, 2, brutally mauled by family dog

A two-year-old boy has tragically been killed after being mauled by his family’s dog.

The “happy and adventurous” young lad reportedly suffered serious damage to his skull after the canine unleashed a ferocious attack on him on Saturday afternoon.

Talan was rushed to hospital from his family home in Queensland, where he underwent emergency brain surgery.

But tragically doctors were not able to stop the internal bleeding, which put serious pressure on his organs and forced them to put him into an induce coma.

In a devastating social media tribute to her son just before he died, Talan’s mother Amber Stewart wrote: “I love you my sweet boy”.

Talan was described by dad James Peters as a “special little boy”

She asked friends and family to “please pray for my baby” and said “we are heartbroken right now”.

By the time this happened, the two-year-old had no brain activity and his parents tragically had to say their final goodbyes before he was pronounced dead Monday evening.

Talan was described by dad James Peters as a “special little boy” who said his little lad fought until the end despite the extent of his injuries.

“He was a brave little soldier. He was happy, adventurous and fearless, and would light up a room with his smile and character,” Mr Peters told news.com.au.

He added that the family was “so proud of out little boy”.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in the hope of supporting the family in the wake of their tragedy, and it has already raised over $17,000 (£12,000) in less than twenty four hours.

“We are overwhelmed with all the support we have received from the GoFundMe page and thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts,” Mr Peters said.

Bex Newman, the creator of the page and Ms Stewart’s cousin, urged the community to support the family during this difficult time.

The page reads: ” All funds of this page will be going directly to Talen’s family to help pay for his funeral and allow them time off work to grieve the loss of their child without the added financial stress of providing for their two beautiful boys Lucas and Kaden at home.

“As you could imagine this is a truly heartbreaking time for the family, anything and everything helps even if it’s only to share it on your page to help get it out there.”
