MultiChoice Brings Disney+ To DStv


Entertainment company MultiChoice Group has teamed up with The Walt Disney Company Africa to bring streaming service Disney+ to DStv.

Speaking in a statement on the DStv website, MultiChoice said the partnership with Disney+ will bring a wide variety of content and ease and convenience of subscription and payment.


Disney+ will launch in South Africa on 18 May 2022 and will be available to local DStv subscribers including via the Explora Ultra decoder, on the same day. DStv customers can enjoy the benefits of exclusive contract packages and bundle deals, bringing all their entertainment needs to one central place. With Disney+, DStv subscribers will have access to the critically acclaimed “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Mandalorian”, the Marvel Studios’ series “Moon Knight”, and Academy Award®-nominated film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings”, Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award®-nominated “Luca”, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award®-winning “Encanto” and Academy Award®-winning “Cruella”.

The Walt Disney Company has announced that South Africans can now register early to subscribe to its Disney+ streaming service, with the company offering an exclusive introductory offer of R950.

Disney+ becomes the latest streaming service to be added to DStv, joining Showmax, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video. DStv Ultra Explora users are also able to stream YouTube.
