South Africa international Benni McCarthy is reportedly pocketing a staggering £40 000 (R797,135.78) as his weekly salary at Manchester United.

The former Blackburn Rovers prolific striker was appointed Man United’s strikers coach on 30 July this year, after he was axed by the South African-based Dstv Premiership club, Amazulu.

Having joined one of the most successful clubs in the world, many have wondered how much the former Bafana Bafana footballer is earning after penning a contract with the Red Devils. According to reports by SA Rich and Famous, McCarthy is taking home a whooping R3.2 million monthly salary.

The above-mentioned salary is five times the one he was pocketing at Amazulu.

At Amazulu, McCarthy reportedly earned an estimated salary of R600 000 a month.
