PICS| Mncedisi Shabangu’s ‘Son’ Pays Tribute To The Late Actor
Actor Bohlokwa Larona Mpiti, who played Mncedisi Shabangu’s son on Rhythm City has paid tribute to the late television and threatre veteran.
Mncedisi Baldwin Shabangu died in the early hours of 24 July. Family spokesperson Mthokozisi Shabangu did not disclose the cause of the actor’s death.
Shabangu was best known for the role of Khulekani which he depicted on former eTV hit flagship drama series Rhythm City. In 2020, he won a Best Supporting Actor accolade at the South Africa Film and Television Award for the role.
Bohlokwa Mpiti, who played the role of Zachariah or Zak on Rhythm City has shred pictures, paying tribute to Shabangu. Mpiti was Khulekani’s son on the series.
In one pair of the pictures, Bohlokwa was sitting with Shabangu in a studio at eTV where the station filmed Rhythm City.
The two were sitting on a couch in a sitting room which was their house on the drama ceries. Khulekani was holding a glass of alcohol and the two actors were smiling as they stared at each other.
In another set of pictures, the two were in the Rhythm City studio sitting at the dinner table as they ate breakfast. Behind them was a crew member who was cleaning Khulekani’s suit.
The background had acting props and a makeshift wall used for acting and bright studio lights.
