Miss SA Shudufhadzo Musida Dragged On Social Media Over Graduation Ceremony
Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida got dragged on social media after she posted a video of herself strutting along an empty auditorium at the University of Witwatersrand in her graduation gown.
After my virtual graduation today, I had an interview opportunity with VC Prof Zeblon Vilakazi & of course I went in my grad attire. This pandemic has led to trying times & uncertainty for everyone. To all students who had to persevere even in the least ideal times… phambili✊🏾 https://t.co/AZRqJq9bk2 pic.twitter.com/UMUHA1pJZ2

Social media users accused Wits University of classism after allowing Miss SA to have a physical graduation whilst all the other graduates had no option but to have a virtual graduation.
This was despite her explanation that she also had a virtual graduation just like everyone else who graduated at Wits University and that she only went there after the graduation for an interview with the Vice Chancellor Prof Zeblon Vilakazi.
Here are some of the reactions from social media;
Because she’s a public figure she must get special treatment ? Do you know what this means? This means even her exams are treated special with the utmost caution to prevent her from failing! Being a public figure shouldnt render you special in institutions, its dangerous!

This is wrong on so many levels. You could have left this for your whatsapp status. We cant be having selective graduations.

Some of us are PhD graduates (Wits) but don’t see anything wrong with her being given the honor on the stage. She’s Miss South Africa, that makes her different. Just appreciate her or keep tool

It’s not ‘virtual’ if you are there in person.
