An autopsy report has revealed that a toddler who was found dead near his crib, was smothered to death with a bloody pillow.
The Dallas County medical examiners office report suggested two-year-old Wilder McDaniel’s death was a homicide by asphyxiation, although the cause of death has yet to be determined.

According to the autopsy, the boy’s body showed signs of asphyxiation and blunt force trauma, although no arrests have been made in the case of the boy’s apparent murder.
‘(McDaniel) had no reported history of previously getting out of the crib and there were no fatal injuries present consistent with a fall from the crib to the floor having caused death,’ the statement went on to say. Due to the findings of the autopsy, ‘it is possible that some of the injuries may have occurred during a struggle,’ the statement added.
