Kay D. (Kent) Hurd February 27, 2022 Kay D. (Kent) Hurd, 83, formerly of Liverpool, NY, and currently residing in Marley, IL, passed away on Sunday at her daughter’s home. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY, Kay graduated from Baldwinsville Academy. From 1961-1985 she managed the bookkeeping for her husband’s TV repair company. One of eight children, Kay was wonderful with kids. For many years, she taught Sunday school. On Sundays, she packed 13 kids from her neighborhood into her wood-paneled station wagon to take them to church, followed by soft-serve chocolate ice cream cones. Later, she attended Practical Bible College. She then was employed at World Missionary Press for fourteen years in Indiana where she did typesetting of foreign languages. Kay loved Jesus, her family, and dessert. She was a patient, gentle, soft-spoken soul who was a voracious reader. She is predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Regen’ol Hurd. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; April (Julius) Wong Loi Sing of Mokena, IL, Robert (Debra) Hurd of Phoenix, NY, Jane (Anthony) Magari, Jr., of Syracuse, NY, Timothy (Susan) Hurd of Hanover Township, PA, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Vivian Williams of Florida and Leona Ingerson of North Carolina. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Beacon Baptist Church, 4800 State Route 31, Clay, NY 13041 with funeral services to follow at 4:00 pm.
