“It Has Been Hard”: Bujy Bikwa Speaks On Life After Fight With Sangoma Boity Thulo

DJ Bujy Bikwa has revealed that he lost gigs and became homeless after his fight with celebrity sangoma Boity Thulo.

Last year, Bujy and Boity Thulo grabbed headlines after they had a fight after an event.

The two were enjoying drinks with friends at the Courtyard Hotel in Midrand and a conversation about sangomas started, which resulted in the pair arguing. Bujy reportedly threw a glass of alcohol in Thulo’s face leaving her with a cut.

The DJ was nabbed and sent to Johannesburg Correctional Centre and was later released on R2 000 bail.

At that time, Boity took to her social media page to address the allegations. She wrote:

It is with deep sadness to state that I was indeed an unfortunate victim of assault of a vicious physical assault and that I have since opened a case against the culprit, which I am following with keen interest. I do not wish to comment on this matter any further (at this time)….

Speaking on the effects of the fight, Bujy said the road had not been easy for him. The former Metro FM radio personality revealed that he was admitted for depression, he lost out on two big TV shows and he could not stay in his apartment after the incident.

As quoted by City Press, Bujy said:

“I missed two television shows. The first one I was supposed to shoot last year and the second one was coming this year. So those are all gone. I know they are both on television now. I have seen them.”

“Even with my deejaying residency, they had put me on hold and said they wanted to understand what is currently happening first before I could go back. So many people did not want to touch me. Other people thought it was too soon for me to start booking the jobs,” he said.

According to Bujy, he still battles social anxiety and he was labelled as a gender-based violence (GBV) perpetrator.
