A big cat has obviously been spotted sneaking through a UK town focus multiple times in the most recent month.

The monster is said to have been threatening the roads in Halifax, West Yorkshire, leaving individuals beguiled with fear to what the animal could be.

The first sighting of the cat was reported at Piece Hall on Wednesday, November 25, when the venue wrote on Twitter alongside supposed footage of the animal: “Are you seeing what we’re seeing? Last nights CCTV footage from The Piece Hall!”

More reports of the animal being seen then came on Friday, November 27, when it appeared to leave a sheltered car park close to Stod Fold.

The animal sightings have been causing a stir in Halifax

And a third sighting was reported on Monday, November 30, in Hopwood Lane near the McVities factory with the animal apparently heading in the direction of the town’s ASDA, reports the Halifax Courier.

Nicky Chance-Thompson, chief executive of the Piece Hall Trust, said: “Our operations team showed me some interesting images around what they’d seen in a routine auditing of the overnight footage and we couldn’t work out what it was other than it resembled a very big cat.”

Following the sightings, residents took to social media to share their shock at the creature’s appearances in the town.

One person tweeted: “OMG! That’s no domestic moggy! Wasn’t there sightings of a large black cat 20 or 30 years ago?”

Another wrote: “Wow that’s one big cat.”

But the footage has made many people suspicious of their authenticity.

One person tweeted: “Is #HalifaxBigCat some nonsense viral marketing stunt? Footage looks faked, and the CCTV timestamp same on both videos. Disappointed if it is.”

Another wrote: “That looks really fake to me. why would a security camera be that low and the cat doesn’t seem to cast much of a shadow even with the lighting that’s there.”
