Police have mentioned in a statement that hoodlums suspected to be one of a street vigilante who has been operating in a particular area in Rivers have attacked and injured a 28-year-old tricycle rider, who was identified as Goodluck Akarabara.
It was stated that the victim who is an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, was ambushed by the group after he closed the day’s work and parked by the roadside to rest for a while before heading home.
The victim mentioned that the hoodlums stole his mobile phone and stabbed him in different parts of his body.
“They called their friends, who came out from Unity Close with machetes. They tried to drag me into the street because they are members of the Unity Estate vigilance group and when I refused to follow them, they stabbed me five times and stole my phone. What I need in this matter is justice,” he added.
