“He Is A Terrible Actor”| Mzansi Roasts Arthur Mafokate For Crying On Air Over Fraud Allegations
South Africans on social media are roasting Arthur Mafokate for “shedding crocodile tears” live on air because of the fraud allegations he is facing.
The Kwaito legend is implicated in the ongoing National Lotteries Commission (NLC) fraud case under investigation by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). Last week, the SIU got a High Court order to freeze his properties.
Mafokate was involved in the misappropriation of R56m in community development funds from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC).
His organisation, the South African Art and Development Association, reportedly applied for grant funding to assist unemployed youth in rural areas.
Investigations revealed that he allegedly misappropriated the funds for his own benefit.
On 20 January, Mafokate sat down with journalist Danny Mdluli to “set the record straight. The interview aired on Arthur Mafokate’s YouTube channel.
The interview was a public relations attempt to portray him as innocent of the lottery funds fraud he is accused of.
However, social media users felt this was a poor attempt as the interviewer was very soft on him, and Arthur refused to answer important questions.
Mafokate could not even confirm that his luxurious Midrand mansion was frozen by the SIU, saying, “Can we give the SIU space to do their job?”

At one point, he was asked what he felt about how the media had covered him. At that point, Mafokate plunges into a fake emotional breakdown, and tears just refuse to fill his eyes and roll down his cheeks.
