On Sunday evening, four people were trapped after a 40-foot container truck collided with a saloon car near Abalti Barracks on Funsho Williams Avenue in Surulere, Lagos.
According to reports, the truck, which was traveling towards Stadium, veered off the road and collided with a Toyota automobile carrying four people.
Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Director General (DG) of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), verified the occurrence and stated two of the trapped victims had been extricated from the vehicle.
The victims were alive, according to Oke-Osanyintolu, who added that the remaining two had been retrieved from the automobile and sent to the hospital for medical assistance.
“The agency has activated its emergency response plan in response to the fallen container along Funso Williams Avenue (Abalti Barracks). Traffic control is underway.
“The quick response of the agency’s response team culminated in the successful extrication of two of the people inside the car.
“The third and fourth victims have also been rescued alive from the car and are receiving pre-hospital care from the agency’s paramedic team.
“The agency’s heavy Forklift Goliath is at the incident scene alongside LASTMA, Nigeria Army, Police and FRSC. Operation ongoing.”
