Fibroid are abnormal growth that develops in a woman uterus. Sometimes these tumor become quite large and leads to severe abdominal pain and heavy periods.
Fibroid cause no sign & symptoms. The growth are typically non cancerous. However the cause of Fibroid is unknown.
According to researches 80% of women have them by the age of 50, most women don’t have any symptoms and may never know that they have fibroids.
Women at greater risk of developing fibroid if they have one or more of the following factors:
Family history of fibroid
Pregnant women
Women between 30 years and above
Women with high body weight
Remember that fibroid causes no sign and symptoms but it depends on individuals body system,some with fibroid will show certain signs and symptoms
1. Heavy bleeding during menstrual cycle that includes blood clots.
2. Pain in the pelvis or lower back.
3. Increased urination.
4. Increased menstrual cramping.
5. Menstruation that last longer than usual.
6. Swelling of the abdomen.
7. Pressure in your lower abdomen.
8 Pain during sex.
Note that this symptoms vary in individuals depending on the location,size and number of Fibroids you have.
