We all know people who suffer from delusions of grandeur, but surely this one tops the lot.

Australian Simon Charles Dorante-Day has made headlines since the 1990s after ‘revealing’ that he is in fact the secret love child of Prince Charles and Camilla.

In fact Mr Dorante-Day spent most of last year being interviewed by perplexed presenters as he was asked about his supposed ‘proof’ that he was the son of the heir to the throne.

The Aussie appeared on This Morning last year where he claimed that his eyes and teeth were remodelled as a child – with his remarks raising the eyebrows of Holy Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Despite the scepticism of people around the world, Simon appears undeterred, having spent his life researching his whacky outlook.

From bizarre notions about Princess Diana to similarities between himself and the Queen, here are all of Simon’s claims that he is Charles’ so-called secret son…

‘Secret love child’

Simon has put out pictures comparing him to Prince William

Simon was conceived in 1965, when the Prince of Wales was just 17 and the Duchess of Cornwall was 18.

The father-of-nine has claimed that the pair kept his birth a secret – with Charles being sent to Australia and Camilla disappearing from the public eye for nine months.

In actual fact, the Duchess was pictured at numerous points throughout the year, and was notably a debutante in London on March 25, 1965.

Born in Gosport, Simon was adopted by Karen and David Day when he was 18 months old.

He stridently claims his adoptive grandparents, Winifred and Ernest, worked in the Queen’s household – suggesting Ernest receiving an Imperial Service Award, although there is no official record of this.

“My grandmother, who had worked for the Queen, told me outright that I was Camilla and Charles’ son many times,” he told 7 News.

“We owe it to our children for them to have answers.

“At the end of the day, I’m just a man who’s looking for his biological parents – and every road takes me to Charles and Camilla.”

One final thing on this part – 1965 is said to be five years before the royal couple actually met at a polo match in 1970.

‘Fictitious’ birth certificate

Simon has claimed that his birth certificate is “complete rubbish”, dismissing his parents names as “fictitious” and that the documents are written in his mothers handwriting.

He has also made the outlandish claim that the hospital he was supposedly conceived at did not deliver a single baby during the decade in which he was born.

However, he has refused to name which institution this is.

Speaking to the Australian TV show Sunrise, he said there is “lots of bits of evidence” like this he wanted to pursue through handwriting analysis.

“I have a lot of evidence and I’m slowly collecting more. The longer this thing runs the more they are going to get it on their face, not me,” he said.

Diana knew of his existence

Simon also claims that Princess Diana knew of the accusations

Perhaps Simon’s most bizarre allegation came when he told Australian magazine, New Idea, that Princess Diana was aware of his heritage.

During the astonishing interview he even suggested that the late ex-wife of Prince Charles was ready to reveal his true identity before her tragic death in 1997.

He said: “We believe that Diana knew of my existence and that she had put the pieces together.

“I think Diana was at a point where she was finding out answers about her life, how she was wronged, and she was going to go public with it.”

Diana never eluded to the idea of a secret son between her ex-husband and Camilla.

He was taken to visit Camilla

Throughout his childhood Simon has made alleged that he was taken to various stately homes to meet his ‘birth mother.’

“I remember going to this house on top of the hill, and I was taken to the front door and my adoptive mother knocked on the front door – she never went in, I just went in,” he told 7 News.

One of his grander claims came when he said that he was taken to visit Broadlands House, then home to Lord Mountbatten – the uncle of Prince Phillip.

“I have clear memories of being taken – and being left by my adoptive parents – to this residence in Hampshire,” Simon said.

“I only stayed there for a few hours at a time, but I was there multiple times. I believe I could draw a plan of the home layout, I know it so well.”

‘Eyes altered to look less regal’

Simon Charles Dorante-Day claims he is the ‘secret love child’ of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles

In his confusing interview with This Morning Simon told Holly and Phil that he may have gone through a procedure when he was eight to change his eye colour from blue to brown – to make him look less regal.

Phil wasn’t having any of it, telling Simon that ITV had spoken to a specialist at Moorfield Eye Hospital who they didn’t know of the surgery that Simon had referenced.

They also said that the procedure would’ve been extremely dangerous in the 70’s.

“I don’t think that they had any choice but to do that,” he said. “But it was because of the gossip in Portsmouth around the time. In those times, blue and blue made blue. There was never any inquisition about that.

“So my oncologist will tell you that one of my lenses is perfectly round and one of them is oval shaped like a football – a rugby football. So this is why I have a vision problem.”

Same bone structure as the Queen

Simon claims his family’s bone structure matches the Queen

Simon often uses his popular Facebook page to make put forth his various conspiracies about his relationship with the royals.

On occasions he has posted pictures of his family, noting uncanny similarities between his own clan and the royal family.

“Someone had commented on my facial bone structure being the same as Her Maj,” he once posted. “The Camilla-style hair doesn’t miss.”

Earlier this month, he also posted a side-by-side comparison of his son Liam, 14, and the young Queen, saying they were “blown away when we first saw it”.

“Elvie (his wife) and I feel like we see many members of the Royal Family in our children, but this one was an eye opener,” he added.

“One of my supporters did the comparison and sent it to me and I was speechless.”
