Edward J. Bonacci, Jr. June 4, 2022 Edward J. Bonacci, Jr., 85, of Liverpool, formerly of Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from a long illness. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Ed retired from Carrier Corporation after 36 years of service. After retiring he worked part time at the Liverpool Country Club for over 15 years. He was a graduate of CBA class of 1955, where he played three sports; football, basketball and baseball. In 1954 he was the first recipient of the Outstanding Student Athlete award in Syracuse given by the IAAC (Italian American Athlete Club). He received the award at a dinner from Mel Allen and Armond Magnarelli. Also, he was Vice President of his senior class and the student council. Ed then served in the Army for four years. He loved to play golf and bowl and make trips to the casino with his wife Linda. He always enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and Syracuse football and basketball. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward J. Bonacci, Sr. and Mildred (Reith) Bonacci and his brother, Nicholas Bonacci. Ed is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda, who was the love of his life and took very good care of him during his illness. Ed is also survived by his 3 sons; Edward (Tracy) Bonacci, Jeffrey (Cathy) Bonacci, and Daniel (Amber) Bonacci; his daughter, Renee (John) Cassano; his sister, Connie (Bonacci) Hall; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. Ed is also survived by the Mitchell and Hatch families from North Carolina who were like a second family to him. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 State Rt 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10:00 am in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 State Rt. 31, Baldwinsville. NY 13027. Burial will be private.
