A woman who crashed her car while apparently driving under the influence of alcohol went on to offer cash and “sexual acts” to the police officer arresting her, according to a police report.
Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office attended the scene on James C Leo Drive, in the township of Spring, just north of Houston in Texas on Wednesday (April 20).
They were told by witnesses that a woman was driving a car that had mounted the kerb before rolling over a flower bed and crashed into a traffic sign.
However, the driver had ran away before police arrived. A short time later a man turned up and tried to convince officers that he was responsible for the accident.

But then a woman, identified in the police report as Dulce Ortiz, 21, arrived at the scene. Ortiz was showing “several signs of intoxication,” according to police, and it was quickly established that she had been the driver of the vehicle.
After a discussion with officials at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Ortiz was booked on a charge of failure to stop and give Information.
However, while she was being driven to the local police station, Ortiz allegedly worsened her situation by attempting to bribe the male deputy by offering sexual acts and cash in exchange for being allowed to go free.

Constable Mark Herman wrote on Facebook: “Dulce Ortiz was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Bribery. Her bond has not been set but is assigned to the 262nd District Court”.
Unsurprisingly, Constable Herman’s Facebook post attracted a lot of comments, with many suggesting that the deputy should have accepted Ms Ortiz’s offer.
However, one commenter – Jaylen Johnson – took a more reasonable tone saying “Instead of laughing at her let’s try and be concerned on why she got in that predicament”.
Jaylen was slapped down by another Texas resident, who replied: “She’s 21/22 years old. Old enough to know better than to drive intoxicated.
“She has a phone, she knows how to get Uber lol. Let’s not make excuses for adults who aren’t willing to be responsible on the most basic levels.
“‘Could be one of yall’. Couldn’t be me, speak for yourself. I don’t drive drunk and I certainly wouldn’t try to bribe a cop”.
She was booked into the jail and is awaiting her bond.
