Man Who Sexually Molested Corpse At Funeral Spared Jail
A deviant man who sexually molested a corpse at a funeral is thanking his lucky stars after he was spared from serving a jail term.
Harare Magistrate Sheunesu Matova sentenced Big Sipiliano of Epworth to 315 hours of community service after finding him guilty of violating a corpse.
Sipiliano was facing a possible sentence of 5 years in prison and a level fourteen fine. According to the new standard scale of fines gazetted in January, a level fourteen fine is a massive ZWL$1,600,000 ($1.6 million).
However, the magistrate opted not to impose a custodial sentence or a hefty fine after noting that Sipiliano was a first-time offender as well as a family man.
During the trial, the court heard that Sipiliano and his friend went to Phillipa Mazhindu’s home in Epworth to extend their condolences. Phillipa’s 20-year-old daughter Melissa had passed on.
Sipiliano went on to say that he had a crush on Melissa and regretted that she had died without him having bedded her.
“musikana uyu munoziva kuti ndaimuda zvikuru, zvino azoshaya ndisati ndamu**ira, asi kunyange zvake afa kudaro handifunge kuti pangaite chakaipa ndikazadzikisa chido changu asati avigwa, nekuti yangu yakatomira.
[I loved this girl very much and now she has died before I could have se_x with her. However, I can still fulfil my desire before she is buried, I am already excited.]”
Sipiliano then forced his way to where Melisa’s corpse was. Melisa’s mother tried to restrain him but Sipiliano together with his friend pushed her aside and uncovered the corpse. He then lay on top of the corpse and started to stimulate sexual intercourse.
Following Melisa’s mother’s anguished screams, neighbours rushed into the house and removed Sipiliano from the corpse where was still engaged in his indecent act.
