Cal-Vin’s Mother Speaks As She Demands Answers From Police
The late Bulawayo rapper, Cal_Vin’s mother has said four months after the death of her son she is still to get answers to the questions that torment her – who killed her son and why?
On Tuesday 2 March, Cal_Vin’s mother, Sinikiwe Luphahla, said she went to the police to find out the latest on her son’s death.
She feels let down that not much progress has been made in the investigations.
In an interview with B-Metro, Cal_Vin’s mother said this issue (Cal_vin’s death) is giving her sleepless nights because she doesn’t really know what transpired on the day he died.
“Ever since Cal_Vin died I have been dashing to the police so that I keep up with the investigations. I am not a mother who gives up, if I do so, he will not be happy where he is resting.
“ On 2 March, I went to the police station to check how far they have gone with the investigations. The police who attended me said they have sent DNA samples to Harare for further investigations.
The publication also reports that while Luphahla is still to come to grips with her son’s death, her granddaughter, Khloe, gives her comfort as she visits her grandmother on weekends.
Promises were made to honor the late musician with the Mayor of Bulawayo Solomon Mguni promising to give Khloe a housing stand, while Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards organizers pledged to pay Khloe’s school fees.
“I once paid a visit to the Mayor’s office in connection with the stand that was promised to the child and I was told he is a busy man.
“Mambazo (Simon) and his crew (RoilBAA organisers) also promised to pay Khloe’s fees, I pray all these promises amongst others come to fruition,” said Luphahla.
Born Mgcini Nhliziyo, Cal_Vin died on 25 October 2020 after being hit by a white Mazda Familia when he was making his way home from a nightspot in Emakhandeni.
The multi-award-winning rapper was in the company of his girlfriend Michelle Maphosa and other two male friends when the tragic accident happened.
