Bellingham A Perfect Fit For Klopp? Here Are Key Talking Points From Jude’s Performance Against Man City
Birmingham City academy graduate and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham made headlines after pulling a scintillating show against Liverpool rivals, Manchester City.
Jude Bellingham gave his team an early second-half lead following his perfect header in the 56th minute. The 19-year-old midfielder nodded home Marco Reus’ cross, beating Man City’s goalkeeper Ederson.
The youthful star linked to Liverpool proved to be a big game player despite the 2-1 loss at Etihad stadium in the UEFA Champions League group stages.
For Man City, John Stones and Erling Haaland were on target.
Is Jude Bellingham A Perfect Fit For Jurgen Klopp?
The Borussia Dortmund whizkid has been increasingly linked to Liverpool.
For Liverpool, Bellingham is touted as the heir to Thiago Alcantara who is being affected by a series of injuries since his arrival at Anfield.
Alcantara (31), is ageing and Bellingham makes a good replacement for the Spanish midfielder.
Bellingham can make a good signing and investment for Liverpool, coming in as backup for Alcantara whose physical fitness is deteriorating.
Thiago is perfectly good at dribbling and passing but the Spanish footballer lacks the attacking edge that Bellingham possesses. Since joining the Bundesliga giants, the youthful Dortmund midfielder has managed to rack up 20 goal contributions in all competitions.
And yesterday, Bellingham showed his braveness in attacking, managing to snatch a goal during the Man City clash. With such quality and ability to attack, Bellingham could be a perfect fit for Klopp since he has a more promising future that can be developed.
Last season in the Champions League, Bellingham averaged 44.41 passes per 90 minutes with a pass accuracy of 84.73%. And yesterday on the Champions League stage, the England international averaged 75.8% proving to be good at ball distribution which is very vital in attacking from the midfield area.
With such ability which Alcantara also possesses, it is ideal for Klopp to sign the youthful midfielder since he could adapt to the coach’s type of play and easily fit into Liverpool’s squad.
What Bellingham Said Amid Joining Liverpool?
The 19-year-old midfielder when quizzed about his transfer link to Anfield, he said that he is still satisfied with staying at Dortmund and is not thinking of joining Liverpool.
“The club has done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful. It’s not something I am thinking about, to be honest.”
