Salto de Pirapora Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has condemned “an attempted military coup” following the resignation of the nation’s top brass.

Pashinyan wrote on Facebook, “I consider the statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces an attempted military coup. I invite all of our supporters to Republic Square right now.”
The Armenian PM also sacked the head of the general staff Onik Gasparyan after he demanded the resignation of the prime minister and his cabinet.
This was just after he fired the deputy chief of staff Tigran Khachatryan on Wednesday.

In another development, the prominent interior minister of Libya’s unity government, Fathi Bashagha, escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday in the capital city, Tripoli, according to an official who spoke with AFP.
According to reports, unknown gunmen in an armoured vehicle, opened fire on his convoy on the highway.
The source said, “Bashagha’s convoy was fired on from an armoured car while he was on the highway. His police escort returned fire. Two of the assailants were arrested and a third is in hospital.”
However, Bashagha, a heavyweight in Libyan politics, escaped unhurt during the attack.
Reports have it that the minister was returning from a visit to a newly inaugurated security unit when the gunmen accosted his motorcade.
