The world is changing everyday, old stuff are gradually going extinct, and new things are now introduced.
The use of cooking gas and gas cylinders in homes have replaced the use of stoves and charcoal.
But gas can be very destructive if it not well handled.
Here are six things you must never do if you use gas cylinders at home.
1. Never make phone calls near your cylinder
We always carry our phone with us, to avoid missing important calls or information. But making phones calls near your gas cylinder can lead to a fertile explosion, due to they kind of wave that phones releases when we make calls.
2. Do not shake your cylinder
Most of us are fund of shaking our gas cylinder, to determine the quantity of gas remaining. But little do we know that this singular act can lead to an explosion. Instead of shaking it, just go for a gas refill.
3. Never manage a faulty cylinder
Management is good, its not good to waste, therefore management is OK, but not in the case a gas. A faulty cylinder should never be managed. Immediately you notice any wrong with your cylinder, change it, just to be on the safe side. You can also take it for a little checkup if that is possible.
4. Never use masking tape on host
Most of us use masking tape for temporary fixing of our gas hosts, but this is dangerous and can lead to an explosion if it leaks.
5. Don’t make use of the gas immediately after a refill
I know this may sound funny, but it is important that you wait at least an hour after filling the gas before using it. The moment you fill your gas, the pressure will be high and can be dangerous.
6. Don’t fail to keep an extinguisher close by
We never hope or pray for a fire outbreak, but these things happen and may not be avoidable. A little fire outbreak may just occur, and the extinguisher might be your only saviour at that moment, so make sure an active extinguisher is always kept close.
